Our story
He is the chef behind Kinship, and for decades he has cooked for families, celebrations, retreats and communities across Western North Carolina. He will be the one in your kitchen on the day.

After being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at a young age, Josh began paying close attention to the connection between what we eat and how we feel. That curiosity grew into a lifelong passion for creating meals that nourish, delight, and bring people together.
Every meal along the way has reinforced something he believes deeply: sharing good food is one of the simplest and most meaningful ways to care for another person.
When you invite Kinship to your wedding, you are welcoming a team that genuinely loves creating beautiful experiences. We care about every ingredient, every guest, and every detail that helps make your celebration unforgettable.

What that looks like on the day
Our team moves through your celebration from setup to the last cleared plate, alongside your family and your guests. Who they are matters as much as what they cook.
We hire people others love to be around, and we look after our own crew as carefully as we look after your guests.
“Planning a wedding was such a crazy experience, and he did a great job of making it easy and smooth.”Michal, married in Asheville
Where that comes from
Cooking well is the price of entry. Holding a room full of families on the most emotional day of their lives is a different skill, and it is one Josh has spent a long time learning on purpose.
None of that appears on a typical caterer’s résumé. All of it shows up in how a room feels.
